ABOUT THE POSITION:

Adventure World offers casual employment in our Lifeguard Team

We offer the opportunity to use your training and experience to keep Guests safe on water-based attractions. You will be willing to attend both mechanical and non-mechanical rides as required.

Our Lifeguards are supported with comprehensive training and personal development opportunities designed to support you meet/exceed your licence requirements.

You are responsible for providing guests with exceptional safety supervision and will:

Have the ability to identify, address and respond to safety hazards
Friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic – greeting guests with a warm and welcoming smile
Patient, in dealing with large crowds and diverse groups of people
Adaptable – we work in a dynamic outdoor environment, with unpredictable conditions such as the weather and accommodating special requests
Problem-solving focused – guests may encounter various challenges whilst in park
Ready to perform tasks in accordance with defined policies & procedures
Open to learning new skills and tasks
Work well in a large team environment

Role requirements:

Be 16 yrs old by 17ᵗʰ Aug 2025
Standing for periods of 4-5 hrs outside in the heat
Current Pool Lifeguard Licence (Royal Life WA) valid to May 2026
Current Applied First Aid HLTAID011 or higher valid to May 2026
Willingness to undertake minimum requirement of personal development training in order to maintain licence
Adequate level of physical fitness & ability to swim 200 mtrs under 6 mins
Have good vision & visual acuity to effectively monitor the water & identify potential risks to distressed swimmers up to 100 mtrs away
Ability to work in chlorinated pool water
Ability to move a tube from water to conveyor belt
Climbing stairs & steep inclines to reach ride locations
Squatting/crouching/lifting child or adult from a water body
Effective communication & guest service skills
Safety-conscious mindset, quick decision-making & problem-solving skills
Ability to direct guests in order to keep them safe
