Royal Life Saving WA is seeking a female Swimming Instructor to deliver high-quality swimming and water safety lessons for the Multicultural Women’s Program at the South West Sports Centre in Bunbury. This program supports women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds by providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for them to learn essential aquatic skills.
The ideal candidate will be respectful, culturally aware, and confident teaching adults with varying levels of swimming experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, structured swimming and water safety lessons tailored to adult learners, especially beginners.
- Create a culturally safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for participants.
- Model and promote safe aquatic practices in all aspects of teaching.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with participants from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Assess participant progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
- Collaborate with the program supervisor and Access & Equity team where needed.
Requirements
- Must be female (due to cultural requirements of the Multicultural Women’s Program).
- Current RLSSWA or AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification (or equivalent).
- Current Working With Children Check.
- Current CPR qualification.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a supportive teaching style.
Desirable
- Experience teaching adult learners or beginner swimmers.
- Cultural awareness or prior work with CALD communities.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining program standards.
