Join us in creating a safe, fun, and thriving aquatic hub at the heart of the Exmouth community! The Shire of Exmouth is seeking an experienced and people-focused Swimming Pool Manager to manage the Paltridge Memorial Swimming Pool and lead our aquatic team on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Manager Economic and Lifestyle Services and assisted by the Duty Manager and Lifeguards, the Swimming Pool Manager is responsible for the day-to-day and long-term operations of the Paltridge Memorial Swimming Pool and Children’s Spray Park, and is required to maintain the facilities and swimming environment, including the grounds of the pool and spray park, whilst ensuring the safety and enjoyment of patrons. Our swimming pool is a Group 1 classified facility and requires the Manager to have/maintain the following certifications or qualifications;
· LIWA (Aquatics) accreditation (requires completion of Aquatic Technical Operator program)
· Pool Lifeguard Award
· Current Provide First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy
· Breathing Apparatus certification (or able to attain)
· Current Liquified Chlorine Gas Safe Handling and Use certification (or able to attain)
As the Swimming Pool Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the pool and spray park meet all legislative requirements of operation including but not limited to, testing, maintenance, chemical handling and water safety. You will lead, manage, recruit and upskill new employees to meet regulatory requirements and recommended training in respective roles.

A manager who has the technical and operational skills with practical experience to manage and maintain our ‘1966 vintage’ swimming pool infrastructure, the capability to manage small maintenance projects and to responsibly lead our pool team. A leader who will reinforce the Paltridge Memorial Swimming Pool as a positive, community focused hub with the activation of events, carnivals and classes.
What we offer: This position is classified at Level 8 under the Shire of Exmouth Industrial Agreement 2025 and attracts the following remuneration and benefits;
· Base salary of $88,287 per annum
· Location allowance of $ 2,002 per annum
· Up to 22% Superannuation (includes co-contribution by you)
· Relocation up to $10,000
· Penalty rates for weekend work and over time or Time in Lieu for additional hours worked
· Onsite Shire subsidised housing (unfurnished)
· 5 weeks annual leave (where possible to be taken during off peak times)
· Eligibility for long service leave after 7 years (conditions apply), uniform including PPE, access to our employee assistance program and wellbeing services
