Are you passionate about teaching swimming and water safety? The City of Karratha is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Swim Teachers to deliver engaging, safe and educational swimming programs to our community. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact while helping participants develop lifelong swimming and water safety skills.
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging swimming lessons and water safety education to participants of varying ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
- Supervise participants at all times, provide constructive feedback, and promote confidence and skill development in the water.
- Prepare and organise lesson plans, teaching aids and equipment to support effective program delivery.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and maintain compliance with all aquatic safety, WHS and evacuation procedures.
- Build positive relationships with patrons, parents and colleagues by delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high professional standards.
What We're Looking For
- A motivated and reliable team player with a passion for teaching swimming and promoting water safety within the community.
- Experience preparing and delivering swimming lessons, with the ability to adapt instruction to different ages and skill levels.
- Sound knowledge of aquatic safety, emergency response, rescue techniques, workplace safety and evacuation procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and patrons while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Physical capability to perform aquatic safety and rescue duties and hold (or be willing to obtain) the following qualifications and clearances:
- Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate (or equivalent)
- Current CPR/Resuscitation Certificate
- Current Working with Children Check
- National Police Clearance (issued within the last 6 months)
- Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
