Swim School Coordinator

In this role, you’ll coordinate day-to-day Swim School operations, lead and develop a team of instructors and assistants, and drive continuous improvement by implementing new initiatives, ensuring programs are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards for our community.
The position is offered as a full-time role, with the possibility of a part-time or job-share arrangement for the right candidate.

Your new role
Working with the Leisure Facilities Programs Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to oversee:
- Leading, supervising and supporting Swim School Instructors and Assistants to deliver high-quality programs and customer service
- Coordinating recruitment, onboarding, induction and ongoing training of swim school staff
- Managing daily Swim School operations, systems, reporting and documentation
- Overseeing the Swim School budget and monitoring monthly financial performance
- Ensuring programs operate in a safe, compliant and welcoming environment
- Supporting marketing and promotion of Swim School programs, ensuring accurate customer information
- Monitoring performance, KPIs and trends, and implementing service improvements
- Building professional networks within the aquatics and local government sector
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring strong leadership capability and operational judgement, and a passion for water safety and community outcomes.
You will have:
- Demonstrated experience coordinating or leading a Swim School or similar aquatics program
- Strong people leadership skills, with experience supervising, supporting and developing staff
- Proven ability to manage budgets, reporting and operational performance
- Sound knowledge of swim teaching techniques, water safety, rescue procedures and first aid
- The ability to manage complex situations with staff and customers in a calm and professional manner
- Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
