The Opportunity
In this position you will work as part of the Leisure Centre Team ensuring that a high level of aquatic, recreation and fitness services are provided to the public. Your key role is to perform pool supervision and operational services to ensure the delivery of a healthy and safe aquatic environment for users. You will assist in the development and implementation of aquatic, fitness and recreation programs and provide a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting water sampling tests of all pools and plant room adjustments to ensure water quality complies with WA Health Department standards;
- Ensuring that the pool circulation and filtration systems are operating correctly and plant rooms are clean and free of hazards;
- Conducting maintenance tasks and, where necessary, reporting required maintenance to relevant staff;
- Coordinating the setup and removal of equipment, as well as cleaning, when required for bookings, recreation programs and events;
- Cleaning change rooms, pool and pool areas, toilets and showers as required;
- Operating plant, equipment, appropriate devices and protective equipment in accordance with demonstrated safety procedures and provided instruction;
- Providing effective supervision of all patrons and casual staff and ensuring workplace safety and general safety standards are maintained;
- Assisting with, or supervising, the delivery of aquatic and recreational programs to patrons in line with current qualifications;
- Performing reception and administrative duties and attending to customer complaints (ensuring a high level of customer service is provided at all times)
Western Australian Pool Lifeguard Qualification, Pool operations certificate Group 1, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus and Chlorine Gas, current HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid Certificate, current WA Working with Children Check, current unrestricted WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence and an acceptable National Police Clearance are essential for this role.
You will also need demonstrated communication and customer service skills, time management skills, knowledge and experience with computer operations and understand administrative tasks.
